Capitalism vs. Love

Capitalism vs Love is no ordinary economics course. This is economics that really matters. Economics that transforms and liberates.

Together, we will grasp our global economic system – capitalism – as a whole. We will see it down to its roots. We will understand exactly how it is structured and functions – in a way that is so accessible and clear that you will easily be able to explain it to others afterwards.

We will see how capitalism affects the most intimate aspects of our lives – down to our identities, our bodies and health, and the ways we form relationships – the ways we love.

With my personal guidance, you will create your own analysis of how capitalism affects YOUR life and unique experience. And you’ll create your own personal action plan for transformation.

You will come away from this course with:

  • A deep and holistic understanding of our global economic system.

  • A personal analysis and action plan for loving transformation.

  • Deep, lasting community with myself and your fellow travelers on this path to insight and liberation.

Who This Course Is For

Those who feel that things are profoundly wrong in the world and want to learn the root causes of the problems and take concrete steps to meaningful change.

Those already working towards liberation who want to deepen their knowledge of the roots of oppression and injustice in our global economic system.

Those trained in economics who want to deepen and expand their knowledge beyond orthodox theories.

Those seeking personal transformation in community with like-minded travelers.

Guiding Questions:

  • What is capitalism — and how does it shape how we live and love?

  • How does capitalism intersect with systems of power and oppression?

  • What would an economy rooted in love, care, and justice look like?

  • How can we reclaim power to transform our lives and communities?

Learning Outcomes

  • A deep understanding of what capitalism is and how it works — in a way that is so accessible and clear that they will be able to pass on their knowledge to others afterwards.

  • A practical understanding of how systems of oppression — including racism, class, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, and ableism — are hotwired into our economic system.

  • A personal analysis of the ways in which our economic system is shaping their own lives.

  • A personal vision for an economy that would help them thrive.

  • A personal action plan for transformation.

  • A deep, grounded understanding of intersectionality — and the root that connects all systems of oppression.

Real World Project

With my personal guidance, learners will conduct their own analysis of the ways in which capitalism affects their lives; create a vision for a new economic system that would support them to thrive; and make a personal action plan for transformation.
